Rebeca Maso is a former ballet dancer from Cuba. She received her training at the Professional School of Ballet Arts in Cuba under direction of Fernando Alonso. She also obtained her Diploma as Ballet Teacher in Cuba and has been teaching for more than 27 years. She was one of the founder ballet dancers of the Professional Ballet Company of Santiago of Cuba in 1990, under the direction of Maria Elena Martinez and the choreographer Jorge Lefebvre director of Royal Ballet of Wallonie at that time.

Ms. Rebeca performed for this company a diversity of leadings roles in classical ballets and contemporary works as well. Ms. Maso was promoting to Coryphée after a year to join the company and was director assistance for rehearsal and ballet classes. In 1994, she traveled to Venezuela as guest ballet teacher to different ballet schools in the south area of this country, working in regional ballet festivals and teaching methodology of ballet established in the Cuban ballet schools. In Venezuela she was a member of the Professional Ballet Company Nuevo Mundo of Caracas under direction of Zhandra Rodriguez former principal dancer of American Ballet Theatre, where she performed neoclassic and contemporary works by choreographer such as Jose Pares, Paulo Denubila, Dennis Nahat, Gabriel Castillo, Hector Montero, Maria Rovira among others, participating in Europe tour and International Ballet Festivals in Cuba. During her time in Venezuela she had the opportunity to perform with Ballet Metropolitano of Caracas by Artistic Director Keyla Ermecheo in different classical ballet productions like Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, and Giselle.

Ms. Rebeca also was invited from Ballet Metropolitano de Caracas to be part of the world premier “Dejando Rastro” modern piece created for four female ballet dancers by Carlos Orta leading dancer and teacher with the José Limón Dance Company and director of Corearte Dance Company of Venezuela. Ms. Maso came to U.S in 1999 as guest artist of Metropolitan Ballet of Caracas participating in the international Ballet in Philadelphia, where had the opportunity to work with Fernando Bujones at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Same year Ms. Maso was part of Dance of Southwest in Albuquerque, NM performed in Nutcracker and Dracula under direction of Patricia Dickinson and Susan Johnson and as ballet teacher as well. Ms. Maso was judge of NJN Hispanic Youth Showcase at The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) for three years and still teaching throughout the tri-state area, NY & NJ. Ms. Maso is current faculty of the Ballet Hispanico Dance School in NY and also teaches ballet, repertory and pointe classes in the summer dance intensive from the same school. Ms. Rebeca opened her ballet studio in 2007 where she provides the guidance and artistic support to Hispanic community in the central –south area in New Jersey.
